WOW!!!
You know, as a Red Sox fan, there’s nothing better than being THIS good right now. Let the pundits scream about the payroll and the “haves”. I want my team to win. I’m not in this for a boo-hoo fest, Chicago. No, really. I love the Cubs and if I had to pick a National League team I’d be behind them all the way (as long as they’re not playing the Red Sox, of course).
The World Series defined what is quickly becoming known in New England as Sports Town, USA. The Pats, The Sox, The Celts and even BC has gotten into the act. Let’s hope that the Bruins are marginally better than they have been in the past couple years.
It’s now the off-season. Time to talk about all of the rumor and positioning from both teams and agents. We’ll see a huge off-season happen before our eyes including the largest free-agent deal ever (to the one who broke it by millions in the first place).
When I’m not talking about silly, mad money deals I’ll get to go off on a tangent about matters personal. THIS year, I won’t have to talk about how the Sox will get it done next year because I’m currently living in fan euphoria.
Mike Lowell, Mike Timlin, Curt Schilling? Will any of them work for the Sox next year?
A-Rod in Boston? I should think not, but we’ll see how hungry this ownership group is for another title (and a lot of headaches).
Congratulations to the Sox and congratulations to the fans who support them. 2007 is the new 2004.
