Alright, how did this happen? Suddenly, the Sox are in a fight for first with the Rays and now they’re going to fight the uprising of the evil empire as well. So, this series that starts tomorrow at Fenway will have a big impact on the standings. No, the Sox won’t end up in third place, but they could end up damaging their momentum and creating havoc across RSN.

With the Rays pestering everyone out of nowhere (seriously, this year has been crazy) and the Sox still trying to get their bats to wake up after the All-Star break, this next month is going to have some serious gameplay that could effectively determine the wild card race.

I say bring on NY. Papi is coming back to fight the good fight. Mani will get his head slapped by Ortiz and he’ll be carting his water bottle out to left field again.
