WAKE UP tomorrow at 6.

It’s time! Time to start the regular season, the title defense, the sleepless West Coast games, the “marathon, not sprint”.

Tomorrow morning at 6:07 AM, EST, the Red Sox begin the ‘08 season and I couldn’t be more thankful. The weather has hovered in the 40s and the outlook isn’t much better than that for the next week or so.

Papi hitting 50?

Manny getting back to 100 RBI?

Lowell hitting 25?

Drew doing anything?

Good-bye to Mirabelli and hello, Kevin Cash.

Let’s… get… this… thing… going…

ALDS Game 1

GAME 1 PREVIEW

Fenway Park, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 — 6:37 PM, EST (TBS Television)

Beckett (20-7) vs. John Lackey (19-9)

Beckett and Lackey are contenders for the Cy Young and while there’s no doubt that Lackey is a strong pitcher at home, he’s not as terrifying on the road and he has had some bad starts at Fenway (remember the last game?). Advantage: Sox

I think they’re looking at a tough couple of games, but the Sox should have no problem taking game 1 if the offense stays as solid as it has lately. I’d love to see J. D. Drew hitting, especially against Lackey. Going the other way has been a regular season issue for Drew, but he’s coming around.

Since Wake is starting in the ‘pen, there is a huge chance he’ll get the call early and pitch for a while if Beckett gets in a huge jam.

Look for Manny to tear it up during this first game.
